Yummy Chocolate!

Class 2 enjoyed chocolate treats today.

Huge thanks to Mrs Hodgetts and Mrs Rooney for making the activity possible and to all the parents who sent in lovely fruit with their children.

If we don't get a chance to say, Mrs Hanson, Mrs Neal, Mrs Guy, Mrs Tranter and Miss Hodgkins would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas.

A message from Alan Peat

Lucy took up Class 3's online writing challenge and wrote a really imaginative and superbly constructed newspaper report.

Mrs Preece-Dawson tweeted her piece of writing and the international teacher trainer and author of many books on improving children's writing replied!

Read Lucy's newspaper report on Class 3's wiki, here.

Recycler the Robot!

Sheriffhales had a fantastic visit today from 'Recycler the Robot' and learnt all about 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle'!

Our materials walk.

Class 2 had an almost-dry walk around Sheriffhales today.

We looked at the housing and the materials that were being used in them.

We found lots of different materials but surprisingly very little plastic!

We hope you like our photos!

Sheriffhales' Published Authors!

We all had an amazing day yesterday when Beth Evans and Adam Ormrod from the Lend Me Your Literacy team came into school to work with our children.

Every pupil's work is now posted online, and we are hoping for lots of comments from around the world about their marvellous writing!

Harvest Service

We said a tearful goodbye to Mrs Hancocks during our Harvest Service on Thursday, and wish her well for her future.

Children in Class 3 raised over £65 for the Melting Pot Cafe in Bilston by raffling their tear and share Harvest Tree loaves.

Thank you to all parents and carers for your generosity in donating for Mrs Hancock's leaving gift, the bread raffle and non-perishable food for the Melting Pot.

Digital artwork

Class 3 used the school ipads to create digital artwork in the style of Man Ray.

Pumpkin week

This week, children across all three classes have been enjoying all things 'pumpkiny'! We read "Pumpkin Soup" by Helen Cooper to start the week off, and each class has focused their learning this week around pumpkins.

e-Safety newsletter

e-Safety is a very important aspect of the children's learning in school, and this term children will be looking at how to keep themselves and others safe online.

We would also like to share e-Safety tips and pointers with parents and carers, via a newsletter produced by "Esafety Adviser". Parents are being sent a copy of the latest newsletter via our own Sheriffhales newsletter, which can also be downloaded from:
